“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

In Calvary’s strategy of fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission, found in the verse above, our Missions emphasis is four-fold.

1. Jerusalem - This is Dothan, our city. We want to transform our city by sharing the Gospel with our neighbors, our coworkers, and our community. We do this as a church through our community ministries. We do this as small groups by volunteering in a wide range of community projects. We do this individually by seeing ourselves as missionaries at work, at the ball field, and wherever we have influence in Dothan.

2. Judea - We are actively planting new churches in our area. At the present time we have three church plants that we are supporting.

Southern Community Fellowship - Marianna, FL

Dothan Country Fellowship - a congregation meeting on the southside of Dothan

Iglesia Bautista de Calvario - Hispanic Congregation meeting three blocks north of our campus on U.S. 231 N.

3. Samaria - We are traveling to cultures that are different from us and partnering with fellow Christians in works of service. In 2014, we traveled to 5 different cultures: New York City, New Orleans, Miami, Honduras, and Cuba. Plans for the future include NYC, NOLA, Argentina, Miami, and India!

4. The end of the earth - We have adopted the Shaikh people group of Maharashtra, India. We are developing a strategy based off of our scouting trip just completed in September.
