Senior Adults
Our senior adults are a vibrant, active part of the family life here at Calvary. They minister to each other and those around them on a daily basis. At Calvary all members are ministers. This is the heartbeat for the seniors as they minister in many different ways.
The following are some of the ways seniors minister to those at Calvary, in the US and around the world:
  • Sunday School: Teaching or being a part of a Sunday School Class for men, women or a class for couples.
  • Game Day when seniors bring their favorite board game and “play” together and fellowship with one another. You are invited to come the second and fourth Thursdays each month at 10:00a.m to the Recreational Outreach Center (ROC) Craft Room.
  • Meals On Wheels allow senior adults to remain independent by providing meals delivered to their homes. Calvary delivers all of the routes from Wesley Manor January 1-10 of each year. Calvary delivers one route each week year round.
  • Senior Adults On the Go: Senior Adults travel for fellowship, recreation, inspiration and education. There are one day, local and overnight trips.
  • Sonshine Fellowship: Seniors gather the third Thursday of each month at 11:30a.m. in the Outreach Center for fellowship, inspiration, information and a delicious meal usually provided by Calvary. We sometimes have a covered dish luncheon so we can experience the wonderful recipes our ladies prepare.
  • Mission Trips: Our seniors join with others of the Calvary Family to build handicapped ramps, repair housing for seniors, or supply other physical needs in Dothan. Our seniors and others travel throughout the U.S. meeting various evangelistic and building needs. Seniors also travel to foreign lands providing evangelistic, health and construction assistance.
  • Senior Adult Choir: Meets every Wednesday at 9:30a.m. in the Worship Center
  • Special Events: Golf outings, fishing trips, luncheons, etc.
