TENDER HEARTS…
A couple of Sunday mornings ago we all witnessed Ron Bruce's tender heart when the news was shared that we had around an additional precious eight children who wanted to be able to participate in WinShape C3 Camp but in our terrible economy the families just did not have the needed funds. Please know that in our basic bread and butter budget we build in a major camp scholarship fund but that was quickly gobbled up this summer. We have also had some wonderful, generous folks help us out before Sunday. Wow! Before we were able to leave the Worship Center there was a stampede to Ron with money as well as commitment to fund all the needs. Even writing these lines there is joy in my heart, total delight in my soul and tears in my eyes. You are totally awesome and constantly display a heartbeat that makes the Lord God Almighty glad and looking good to others. By the way, Sunday evening in the Fellowship Center's cool indoor picnic we had still other dear saints also offer to stand in the gap. I dearly love you for who you are and you greatly impress me with what you do.
TENDER SOULS…
Last week on our campus there were over six hundred extra small feet hearing the truth of God's Holy Word being communicated in a creative, understandable, age appropriate manner. Our Chick-fil-A team this year was indeed the "A" team that could win a gospel national championship. Ron Bruce continues to show uncanny vision, energy and dedication that is not possible to match. Well done, dear valuable brother. The whole ROC staff came marching forward with excellence. The large host of our magnificent student volunteers is totally unmatched. Thanks to Yahweh for our own Jim Bradburn for recommending us to Sam Cathy as a national host camp site. Our own nurse crew really does help our guests feel secure and cared for. Indeed it does take a whole church family and other partner churches to help us raise up spiritual warriors.
TENDER GUESTS…
IF we are serious about something extra spiritual to start in our minds, hearts and souls the first three Sunday evenings in August during our WOW Come Home to Calvary Family Reunion, then we must now pray without ceasing and commit to attending all three life-changing services with a guest at our side. Our line up of guests to help lead these unique times of refreshing, soul-stirring, God encounters are rated world-class. They come on a love offering basis to share face-to-face deep powered truths from our Father from a lifetime of learned experiences that will bless and challenge us individually and as a whole loving church family. Get comfortable, buckle your seatbelt and begin a new ride with Jehovah that will help all of us to better live out our five purposes.
TENDER TRUTHS…
Thanks for your personal, specific, daily prayer support and weekly pew support as we have spent these hot summer Sunday mornings revisiting Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life loaded with over one thousand spiritual truths. Yes, we have kept the same sermon titles and the weekly three or four major outline topics but greatly revised exactly how we approached our bringing home the valuable life-equipping lessons from the Bible. We have now fully handled three of our life purpose lessons. We still have two additional purposes to teach and learn. Let me ask and challenge you to not miss the final two messages. If you have been absent from these services this summer, visit our website, www.calvarydothan.com, and listen or download the whole Worship Celebration. Hey, thank you for praying for our two different teams in New York City and Haiti this week.
Your pastor,
Van

Music Ministry

Lisa Hunt has been serving as one of our music assistants for the past four years. Lisa has been responsible for coordinating our children’s choirs as well as making sure all of our visual arts are ready each and every Sunday. Lisa is taking a great opportunity and has become the choral director at Northview High School. What a blessing it will be to have another strong Christian influence in our public school system. Lisa will do an excellent job in pouring her life into those high school students. This is Lisa’s heart and a great God-given opportunity. I told Lisa that she will be missed at the office day by day but we are praising the Lord for this next step that she is taking. Please join me in expressing your appreciation to Lisa for these past four years as well as dedicating yourself to pray for her as she becomes the choral director at Northview.
God continues to provide in such great ways. Debbie H. Smith has agreed to work again with us as our children’s choir coordinator. Debbie has such a heart for children and it will be exciting to see how God uses her in this position. Stay tuned for what’s upcoming. God is opening some incredible doors and we are excited about what is next!
