Partners in Ministry

AWESOME…A great big hearty thank you and well done to Brad Bradford and all of our music type folks who once again gave a personal love offering of themselves to the Lord God Almighty at our annual God and Country Red, White and Blue Worship Celebration powerful services. Well done! Thank you and a big pat of appreciation to all of you who went the extra mile to personally be present and on time to participate and be a major source of encouragement. One of Calvary's major strengths is the open willingness of so many of our dear saints to say "no" to self and gladly say "yes" to Yahweh and help us put only our best foot forward at both major ministry events as well as at minor tasks. This is a tradition that we can build on if more people will decide to get on board to participate at a new higher, richer level of prayer, presence and using that position to recruit others to be a blessing.
AUGUST…
The word that we attempted to communicate once again this summer was to request our family miss only a maximum of two Sundays so that we will position our whole family to be obedient to Scripture to not be lax in meeting together. If you have allowed yourself to miss this challenge, right now is an excellent time to make a vital path change and show up weekly for the rest of the summer.
Especially do we need a radical time of daily, specific, passionate prayer for the Sunday evenings, August 15, 22 and 29, awesome services with special guest speakers that will challenge and bless your soul! This will be the official start of our Calvary come home movement. Since we all need a revival, let us start really seeking a much closer, dedicated walk with Jehovah Jirah. Let us challenge others to a new sense of growing strong, spiritual muscles by daily being in the Word and letting the Word get much deeper in our mind, heart and soul.
THE PICNIC…
Our on-campus, family style, bring your own food gathering in the Fellowship Center this past Sunday evening was enjoyable. Charles Uptain taught clearly at a high level on the adjustments that must be made with a new family member in the home. He clearly drew a map of exactly what this means when we see the miracle of God when a precious, tender soul is saved and baptized. Note that we get an extra helping on our most valuable five God-given purposes. Pray for Nate Brady and his presentation this Sunday as he relates the massive goals of our whole student ministry and how we are to help.
ON THE ROAD…
We are absolutely so very excited about the immediate response that we are receiving about our start up come September to Calvary's Road Warriors who are gladly agreeing to go out for a ten-week term to do "opinion polls" in designated neighborhoods as well as visit recent guests/prospects and make contacts with absent folks who we dearly love. Yes, there is still room for you to be a frontline soldier for our Living Savior.
PRAYER REQUEST…
Pray for our groups in New York this coming week and the group in Haiti. Thank you! I dearly love you unconditionally.
Your pastor,
Van
FUN FACT…
You are as close to God as you choose to be.

C.O.M.E.

The mission trips are here. Please pray for the group going to New York City and the group going to Haiti. Pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to make itself known. Pray for protection. Pray for health. Pray that God would use us for His Great Glory.
We are continuing to collect clothing for the students at Laurel Oaks. The clothes needed are for males from first grade through high school and femalesfrom middle school to high school. Please go through your closets and send unworn clothes to us. This would be a great exercise for your student to go through their clothes and give some away. Getyour students on mission. Let them choose. Encouraging your students to give will always pay dividends.
Are you looking for a ministry? We are responsible for a route that delivers “meals on wheels.” We must run the route once a week. If you could help, even on a part-time basis, please contact me.
There are three types of evangelism that occur in our church. There is pulpit evangelism where the pastors preach so that people will be saved. There is personal evangelism where we as individuals share the gospel. This can be done in either an organized orunorganized manner but the major objective is sharing the good news. There is ministry evangelism. This is where ministry is taking place and that opens the door for sharing the gospel. Each one is important. Please get involved in one of these.
Good News! Last Sunday 13 people were baptized at Dothan Country Fellowship. Praise God! Please continue to pray for our missions.

Singles Ministry

Thank you for your prayers for my Dad during the past couple of weeks. He is slowly improving and is in Rehab now. Pray for his recovery and for us as we make decisions concerning his care.
I am extremely excited about all the financial support that has been given for our teen Bibles for the Graffiti 2 Ministries. We will be purchasing the Bibles this week and having them shipped to Mott Haven, New York. We hope that they will arrive while our mission team is there. Thank you for your heart for missions.

Senior Adult Ministry

Words can never express to each one how much your prayers and acts of kindness have meant to Woody and I while I was away caring for my Dad. He is improving each day and I know that it is because of the faithfulness of your prayers for him. He is in Rehab as I write this and is getting stronger each day. Please keep praying for his recovery and for us as we make decisions concerning his care.
If you have been thinking about our trip to the Billy Graham Library, Biltmore Estates, and Ridgecrest, please contact Emily in the Church Office, 792-5159. I know that the date seems a long way off, but we must make our deposits soon. I hope that many of you will share this week together with me and all the others who will be going. My heart's desire is for us to worship and fellowship together during this week.
