Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
Calvary's Goal: $140,000
Every Church. Every Nation.
This is a collective effort. Every church working together for the spread of the gospel to every nation.
Over 2.8 billion people have little to no access to the gospel. Together, we’re changing that. 100% of the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering supports IMB missionaries who are making disciples and multiplying churches among unreached peoples and places around the world. Your giving is a vital part of that.

From Our Senior Pastor
By: Paul Thompson

Don’t let opposition keep you from opportunity.
When writing the conclusion to his 1st letter to the Corinthians, Paul mentions this reality: “There is a wide-open door for a great work here, although many oppose me”. (1 Cor. 16:9 - NLT). Consider some of the opposition Paul faced in spreading the Good News: Paul confronting the evil powers in Ephesus led to some very dramatic experiences, culminating in a public bonfire when their books of magic were consigned to the flames. This stirred up much opposition, as you can imagine. Then there was the riot of the silversmiths because Paul’s preaching led to a dramatic decline in the market for idols in Ephesus. And then the Jews opposed him for he obviously preached a different message and threatened their hierarchy.
Now some might interpret any opposition or difficulty in life as a sign that they are “outside of God’s will” or that they should stop what they’re doing. But not Paul.
He knew this reality: Opportunity and opposition often go hand-in-hand.
Look around you – at home, work, school, the neighborhood, etc. and ask God to show you opportunities to do good, serve others, imitate Christ, and share the gospel. If you’ll just make an attempt to start a conversation, respond to a need, or do something good for someone else, you’ll find so many “open doors for a great work” all around you.
You know what you’ll also find? That’s right. Opposition. Some will resist. Some will question your motives. It might cost you more time or effort than you expected. It might get messy or more involved. Or life itself will suddenly get busier, harder, or more complex. Truth is, there will always be opposition. But don’t take that as a sign that you’re off course or out of God’s will. In fact, it can be a sign of the exact opposite.
But do good anyway. Engage others anyway. Talk about Jesus anyway.
And consider this: Often that opposition is the opportunity!
That difficult person at work? Maybe that’s an opportunity to help someone going thru a really rough time in their personal life. That problem or situation that really frustrates you? Maybe that’s an opportunity to be an agent of good and make a difference. That diagnosis? Maybe that’s an opportunity to meet others in the same condition who don’t have the hope you have in Christ. That obnoxious neighbor? Maybe what they need is a friend and a Savior.
So, let’s purpose to be people of opportunity who don’t waver in the face of opposition!
Let’s obey Ephesians 5:16 and “make the most of every opportunity in these evil days”!
Your pastor and friend,
Paul
