From the Senior Pastor
By: Amanda Trammell

On Monday, March 10, we will begin renovations to our sanctuary. Thank you all for generously giving to Tier 3 of the Partners in Ministry fund so that we can make these necessary repairs and make overs. We will be giving a face lift to the interior that will include new carpet, paint, pew covering, video, replacement of the acoustical cloth in the back 3rd of the sanctuary, and some upgrades to the platform and choir areas. You’ll also notice some changes to the foyer/lobby that will make it brighter and more welcoming to guests and more attractive overall.
During these renovations, we will continue to offer two morning services of worship at 8:00 AM and 10:45 AM. Both services will meet in the Fellowship Center until the work in the sanctuary is complete. The two services will maintain their distinctive “styles”, but will meet in the same place. Nothing else will change during this time. Our goal is to return to the sanctuary by Easter Sunday, but that is less than certain. We will continue to provide updates about the progress.
Even as we make these necessary renovations, let us never forget that “church” is not something you go to (a place), or something you do (a program or service). It is something you ARE. And though our renovated sanctuary will be freshened up and made more attractive, we should never think that “come and see” could ever replace “go and tell”. If we want Calvary to be truly attractive, we must be attractive people.
2nd Corinthians 2:15-17 says,
“For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.”
That’s a powerful reminder that our lives and our words should make Christ known and attractive. And He is not a product to be sold and tried by consumers. He is our life. If our lives show Christ clearly and His love is experienced by us and demonstrated through us, He will be attractive!
Spread the sweet aroma of Christ wherever you go this week!
Pastor Paul

Resurrection Crosses For Yards
By: Amanda Trammell

Resurrection Crosses for Yards
In celebration of our risen Savior, crosses for your yard will be available for our Calvary family on Sunday, March 2 and 9. If you have not gotten a cross or if you want to share one, please get one in front of the sanctuary after any service on these two Sundays. If you are new to Calvary, the cross is 4 feet high and is placed in your yard with the purple drape signifying that Jesus is King of kings, changing to black on Good Friday, and then white as we celebrate the resurrection on Easter Sunday. It is a joy to see them all over town as a witness to the saving power of the cross.

Calvary Spring Neighborhood Parties
By: Charles Uptain

Calvary Spring Neighborhood Parties
Do you remember how much fun we all had at the neighborhood block parties back in the Fall? I remember hearing lots of groups who could not wait to do them again. Well, spring is here, and it is time to party! We, here at Calvary, have a goal of hosting over 40 neighborhood parties in the month of April! Will you host one? These parties are great tools in helping us find out the needs of the folks who live closest to us. Come to the Upcoming Events booth in the back of the Fellowship Center to pick up a packet or even sign up that you will host a party in your neighborhood.
