Super Sunday Work Night #2
By: Charles Uptain

Calvary will begin the new year with a face-lift! Many of our Life Groups will begin meeting in different spaces on January 6th. These changes are meant to make our campus more guest-friendly by providing dedicated space for preschoolers, children, youth, and senior adults. We want to “make sense” to our first time guests. We want less of an insider mentality and more of an everyone's welcome attitude.
We had great response from volunteers in helping us move all of the furniture last week. Now, we turn our attention to getting the rooms prepared for this coming Sunday morning. Teachers and Life Group leaders, it's your turn to come "spruce up" your new space. We will have the church unlocked and staff roaming the halls on Thursday, January 3rd, from 6 PM - 8 PM to give you time to work.

From the Senior Pastor
By: Paul Thompson

Some of the most powerful (and important) words ever spoken we from the angelic messengers who announced the Savior’s birth to some unsuspecting and terrified shepherds many years ago: “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”(Luke 2:10-11). At that moment, I’m sure they didn’t realize just how good that news really was! Many still don’t. They see the lights and decorations; they shop for the gifts; they may even attend a church service. But do they really see and know what God has done and what He still offers them? This year at Christmas Eve, we will be presenting the story of that Good News through music and Scripture. I’ll conclude with a different perspective: the perspective of the angels who according to Scripture, “long to look into these things” regarding our great salvation. The angels knew of the goodness and glory of God. They knew of the great separation of man from God over sin. And they knew of the grace required to bridge that chasm. This year, we all people who come to our services to see and know and receive the same. Will you invite everyone you can to our Christmas Eve services? The services will be at 5pm and 7pm and will be identical. We expect a full congregation at the earlier service, so if you are able to attend the later service, that would really help with space.
Praying that many will believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing will have life in his name,

Pastor Paul

Great reports:
I never get tired of bragging on our children. God is doing great things with all three of them. Yes, I am talking about our missions! This past week, Southern Community Fellowship had 131 in worship with three to join, one by POF and the other two by statement. Dothan Country fellows had 96 and they had three people to receive Christ. Iglesia had over 100 and will soon baptize 3+. All this is happening partly because of your giving to our budget. God is taking the funds that we are contributing and multiplying its effectivness. Please continue to pray for our kids.
We more greeters. The more we have the more we will be able to rotate and have people greeting all thie time. Would you help? And the biggest prize of all is that you get to wear that wonderful vest. People will notice you.
Thank you
Ed

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
Calvary’s Goal: $60,000
Ingathering Day: Sunday, December 9
National Goal: $175 Million
All offerings given during the morning Worship Celebrations this
Sunday, December 9, will be designated for Lottie Moon.

Small gifts; big impact!
Helping reach a $175 million goal can be very daunting if you’re struggling to make ends meet. But God smiles upon every gift given from a joyful heart, no matter the amount. Every penny given to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is used to help support about 5,000 Southern Baptist missionaries serving overseas. Last year, more than 2.2 million people got to hear the Gospel from those missionaries and their national partners. And from those hearers, your missionary force reported baptizing 333,823 new believers and starting 28,873 new churches.
